About

One evening while I was trying to teach my son and daughter how to analyze English sentence structures by annotating the parts of the sentences, my son mentioned that at the beginning of the school year one of his classmates asked the English teacher whether she was going to teach sentence diagramming. That’s the first time I heard of sentence diagramming, which I soon found out to be a wonderful tool for analyzing sentence structures. My joyous journey began.

Grammar teaching in the public schools in the United States has been in decline for at least 50 years. The consequences are dire. A revival of grammar teaching, of which sentence diagramming is a part, is badly needed. Some parents ( including me) have taken action to teach their children sentence diagramming at home.

I hope this site will be of some help to the parents who want to teach their children sentence diagramming and to the people who themselves want to learn sentence diagramming.

Feel free to send me a note.
